We invite you to meet us through these webpages and discover our "eyes wide open" approach in creating avenues to integrate the many helpful ways animals can assist you.
We are committed and deeply rooted in the tradition of developing networks to improve the relationship between humans and animals.
You will be introduced to the various ways in which we accomplish this from a prison dog program providing training for shelter dogs networking shelters/rescues, to personal one-on-one coaching, group classes, in-home services for the elderly, and crisis emergency services for those in great need.
We have been training therapy dogs and providing animal assisted therapy services for over ten years. We are registered with both local and national organizations that register therapy dogs. We also participate with the Research Center for Human Animal Interventions (RECHAI) based at the University of Missouri-Columbia, MO.
We are creative, innovative and collaborative in our approach. Through our mentoring and training projects at the correctional facilities the Missouri Department of Corrections "Puppies for Parole" program we have discovered a triple-crown winning situation where all involved benefit. The local shelter, the correctional facility and the resulting family that receives a well trained dog all benefit from this training program. We invite you to visit the Hero's Hope Pet-Assist and H.A.L.O's PLACE pages to learn more about our programs.
The adventure of remolding and rehabilitating in a training program identifying shelter dogs and placing them with offenders in correctional facilities never ends. There are unlimited opportunities for training in many different venues. Offenders often provide advanced training to enable a selected dog to provide assistance services for veterans or those with physical or emotional needs that require the assistance of a trained dog.
Through our educational programs we present materials in a fun-interactive manner to children at schools, libraries, student groups, 4H programs, correctional facilities, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts on a regular basis reaching thousands of children each year with a message of responsible pet ownership and safety with dogs (bite prevention).
More and more pet owners consider their animal companions part of the family unit. It is our goal to help you develop a strong bond and relationship with your four footed family member.
Enriching the relationship between you and your pet is our passion. We are fully committed to nurturing and preserving that relationship through helping you keep your pet with you in your home even during times of financial, medical or crisis emergency situations. Should you find yourself in need of assistance in any manner, please contact us.
We provide for most of your pet care needs including canine coaching, in home pet care service, transportation and specialized training. All methods are science based using proven non-aversive reward based positive motivational methods.
We invite you to meet our family and friends through these webpages and welcome you to contact us. Our goal is to promote responsible ownership through educational opportunities and personal services. We look forward meeting you soon.
